Material Voices: Feminist Genealogies of the Work of Making Exhibitions Silvia Coppola is in charge of production and Auria Etxeandia of communication. Members of Bulegoa z/b are: Beatriz Cavia, Miren Jaio and Leire Vergara. Bulegoa z/b organises seminars, presentations, screenings, performances, talks, conversations, and other activities. It is an initiative created around a shared interest in issues such as critical pedagogical practices, situated knowledge and collaborative methodologies feminisms and the decolonial perspective processes of historicisation, and cultural translation as well as social transformation and its relation to art. In this sense, Material Voices started from the desire to give attention to this precariousness and to find other ways of conceiving the medium of the exhibition, as well as to move from the female voice to gender diverse narratives.” (Bulegoa z/b)īulegoa z/b is an office for art and knowledge located in the Solokoetxe district of Bilbao. Material Voices: Thinking Exhibition Making through Voice, Body and Space English will be spoken at all events, however, we will strive for solutions should other languages for the Q&A be preferred. While the former picks up on the lack of oral history on female (independent) curating and feminist curatorial labour, the latter is grounded in the notion of storytelling as a “carrier bag” (Le Guin) which has the potential to become a transversal political space.
