Her character softens somewhat over the course of the book, but she remains an ultra-sarcastic bitch who (get this) actually manifests her independence and ditches the boys a few times, rather than just falling in line with their wishes. She’s violent, arrogant, and festering with resentment and vengeance. ✔️ Madison Kate is definitely the overwhelming star of the show. And you know what? She isn’t as dismally unsuccessful as most reverse harem bully romance heroines.

I’m pleased to see that in this book, she threw off a lot of the shackles that were keeping me from enjoying her books. I know that James is an engaging writer, but a lot of her past books have been unbearably cliched ( Broken Wings) or full of plot holes (the Royal Trials series). My expectations were pretty much rock-bottom going into this book. How very convenient that someone just moved into the bedroom down the hall from me.Īrcher D’Ath and his boys messed with the wrong chick and they’re about to learn just how cold Madison Kate’s hate can run. Someone is going to catch the full force of my hate. Someone is going to pay for derailing my carefully laid out future.
